Sauna infusion oils by Riviera – eleven fragrances for your sauna infusion, developed and made in Austria. Whether you have a sauna at home or regularly visit a public one: the right sauna oil lets you decide how your infusion smells, from fresh woodland notes to classic menthol to fruity and exotic.
Which sauna oil suits you?
All Riviera infusion oils share the same base and are dosed the same way. The difference lies in the fragrance:
- Forest and Alps: Silver Fir (earthy, calming), Mountain Pine (fresh and earthy), Apple-Spruce (fresh, slightly woody) and Birch Sprout (earthy, slightly sweet)
- Fresh and clear: Eucalyptus (refreshing, menthol-like), Mint (fresh and cooling), Lemon (clear and uplifting) and Lemongrass Pure (lemony, invigorating)
- Fruity: Mandarin-Orange, Blackcurrant-Grapefruit and Mango-Papaya (exotic and fruity)
Sizes: 60 ml, 75 ml or 1000 ml
Most fragrances come in two sizes. The small bottle (60 ml or 75 ml, depending on the fragrance) is ideal for trying things out and for your home sauna, so you can test several fragrances before settling on a favourite. The 1000 ml bottle is intended for regular sauna-goers as well as saunas and spas. The oils are highly concentrated and therefore economical to use. Birch Sprout is available in 60 ml only, Lemongrass Pure in 75 ml only.
How to use them in a sauna infusion
The manufacturer recommends 5 to 10 drops per 5 litres of water, depending on the intensity you want. The oil always goes into the infusion water, never undiluted onto the stones or the stove, as the liquid and vapour are highly flammable. Only use and store the bottle outside the sauna. Diluted, the fragrances can also be used in an aroma lamp or as a room spray. What makes these infusion oils special
The oils are made from high-quality essential oils. According to the manufacturer, they heighten the sauna effect, soothe the airways and stimulate the flow of blood to the skin. For an extra boost of freshness between sauna sessions, Riviera recommends a rub-down with Holzhacker Franzbranntwein, a herbal rubbing alcohol.
